Sourcing in the recruitment sector refers to the process of identifying and attracting potential candidates for job vacancies. The objective of sourcing is to find the right candidates, who are a good fit for the company and the role, as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Sourcing can involve a variety of methods, including:

Job Boards: Posting job vacancies on online job boards and social media platforms to attract a large pool of candidates.

Employee Referrals: Encouraging current employees to refer their friends, family or acquaintances for job vacancies.

Trade Shows: Attending job fairs, market expos, college career days and other recruitment events to meet potential candidates in person.

Database Search: Searching the recruitment firm’s database of previous candidates and contacts for suitable matches. You can also research a lot about other companies or similar roles within a database depending on how effective the database is tagged and managed.

Social Media: Utilizing social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to search for potential candidates and connect with them.

Sourcing is an important part of the recruitment process as it helps to identify a pool of qualified candidates, who can then be assessed and selected for the job. Effective sourcing can help the recruitment firm to save time, resources and money, and help the client company to find the right candidates faster.
